The Dom Rep, still an amazing place!
3 years later, no doubt there are many changes! More and more tourists, buildings, noise, pollution, european residents came to settle down here. The main street is now a nightmare, especially since they are working on the waste water network, opening the road and bringing heaps of dust all over the places, making it even worse than before... help!!!
Apart from this, there is still heaps of space on the beaches and it's with the same happiness that I caught up with the locals, their 'joie de vivre', smile, their kindness. They remained the same and the more I know them, the more I love them!
The rythm here is pretty laid back. We rent a house with Pete at punta Popi, 2 ft from the kitesurf spot and we enjoy it!
There are moments to catch up with my good old friends,
and moments to re-discover the most beautiful places such as the Limon waterfall,
and the Samana Peninsula tour, with Dan and Derek, 2 american friends who sailed from the USA to the DR, and to whom I show the amazing beach of Rincon.
No time to get bored between kitesurfing, salsa lessons, walks on the beach, and moments spent with friends.
I have different plans in mind for the future, among which, volunteering in an orphanage in the country in a place close to Puerto Plata, then catch up with a good friend of mine, Audrey, who will be in St Martin around mid february, then Berangere who lives in Guadeloupe...
Pfff, hard life to be on holidays with heaps of different possibilities... no worries, I'll work it out! Cu later for the rest of my adventures !
