Here we go! Back to the sailing adventure! After departing from Les Saintes, I sailed to Antigua on a Bulgarian boat, a 31ft, a very long sailing with not much wind at all.
I spent a few days in Antigua with Leizu and Sascha whom I’d met in Dominica not long ago, then flew to the USA. Except for a few nice sand beaches, I did not have time to see much of the island!
I’m now up to a new Atlantic Crossing, this time on a 46ft catamaran, a Leopard, with my fellow skipper Rachel and her boyfriend Jordi who’s also a skipper.
We are leaving from Fort Lauderdale near Miami in the USA, and delivering the boat to its owner in Cork, Southern Ireland.
Another mission, through Bermuda, where we might stop, and then the Acores. Expected time of the mission: 1 month of sailing if the weather is good.
So I should be back in Europe by mid may or the end of may at the latest. Back to winter and cold weather for me… what a change it´s gonna be since I’ve been in the sun since last September!
This trip should be a comfortable one. A cat is way more stable than a mono hull, there’s heaps of space, a big kitchen and lounge, a nice space outside, a big fridge, an awesome sound system and a cool navigation cabin on the deck.
Rachel did freak me out when she showed me the catamaran, telling me the owner did not want me to sleep in a cabin and showing me this...
I really believed her, what a cheeky girl! Instead, I have my private own cabin with bathroom and shower and a queen size bed…
Cool bro, this is gonna be fun and it’s a new route to cross the Atlantic for me on a different kind of boat, so a new experience.
Good food is on board, fishing lines with lucky calamars are ready to go, may the wind be fair and I’ll soon be visiting my dear mates in Belfast, London and even Scotland if I have time and money left.
Meanwhile, we are waiting for the boat to be ready as workers have not finished fixing it yet, and I am enjoying the American gastronomy... pouahh...
Well, if everything is all right, we should leave next week so cu soon bros!
