Manuela, a swiss friend of one of my mates from NZ was visiting Barcelona and she could enjoy this specific day of St James, with fireworks all night long, big party on the beach of Barcelona, absolutely crowded... unfortunately, the music was not of my kind... boom boom boom it made and did not encourage me to stay all night long... sorry I am kind of olf fashioned and love my disco, pop rock or latino music that can make me last all night!
Back to our story then, Montserrat. After an awesome concert of Stomp, dancing in a night club and only a few hours of sleep, to awake was not easy! Fortunately, there was a really beautiful day coming along, and we made the most of it, of the mountain fresh air, of the space, and an open view on the plain... amazing!
Only one hour of train and gone were the noise and pollution of Barcelona. Getting closer, here is what we could see this through the window.
Then, after a really cool trip in a train built along the mountain, we unfortunately caught up with the mass of tourists at the top... we paid a quick visit to the church where an unbelievable high number of tourists was queueing in order to make vows to some virgin... and there we were, ready to climb and reach wild spaces!
Hot, hot, hot! Fortunately, there were a lot of shade on the way up, and amazing look outs! Not many brave tourists had chosen this itinerary, more bound to take the cable car and climb the rest to the top.
I caught up with Manuela at the top, (she had taken the cable car due to her sore hip) and after a good pic nic, we chilled out to breathe, fill up with energy, fresh air, and images!
We took some silly pictures:
And made our way down, separately, seeing some funny shaped rocks:
A yummy double chocolate magnum and some water as a reward, a kind of a nap in the train on the way back and straigt into bed!!!
